I lived at
McKinnon at the time and the railway station was from where I ventured forth on
many a memorable journey, and to which I
returned, tired, dishevelled, usually starving but always glad to be back at
“my station”. I got to know the staff fairly well, and spent many pleasant
evenings getting acquainted with “Double Line Block”.

Note the trucks in the sidings on the

What guards did when a train arrived
at its destination – go around the back and close the white “end-of-train”
disk.

This picture was accidental, but it’s
the only one I’ve got of the inside of a Tait Carriage.
